Completed Work
To give you some idea of the finished article I have included some photographs of properties which I have thatched.
Here is a cottage I recently completed.
This cottage was coated in wheat straw and has been finished with a traditional butt up flush ridge.
This is a typical one and a half story Dorset thatched cottage, once a game keeper cottages and required a complete re-coat.

Here is a completed ridge finished with a traditional point. You can see the way in which the ridge is held using spars and split lengths of hazel called ledgers.
The design of the end of the ridge is one that has been used as a traditional method for centuries.
