To give you some idea of the finished article I have included some photographs of properties which I have thatched. Here is a cottage I recently completed.
This cottage was coated in wheat straw and has been finished with a traditional butt up flush ridge.
This is a typical one and a half story Dorset thatched cottage, once a game keeper’s cottage and required a complete re-coat.
The design of the end of the ridge is one that has been used as a traditional method for centuries.
